What now?

| Soooooo, last fall I cut back my canna, left them in pots and put them in my crawl space under my house. This past weekend I took them out and this is what I found. What should I do now? I was thinking of cutting off these skinny pale stalks, digging them up & replanting them w/new soil. Any other suggestions? Do you think they'll be okay? I was just too busy & lazy in the fall to do much else with them and am shocked that they grew under the house w/no light or water! They are 2 pots of Durban, 1 Red King Humbert and 1 Phaison
I should probably be turned in for plant abuse.

I wouldn't replant them I would just cut the stocks put them in a warm position water lightly and leave alone until you see something then water more regularly - your in zone 8 so its worth a shot.

I did a similar thing with mine and with this weeks hot weather almost all are sprouting nice healthy growth.

haha! They are re-sprouting and look more "normal" now with the hot weather we had last week. I'll have to take & post another picture in a couple days when they leaves unfurl a little more. I'm so happy they survived! nyssaman- I cut them off, left them in the sun, added water & with the warm weather - wa-la! thanks! buyorsell888- I'm glad I'm not alone. ;)

You are not alone. I just didn't have time or energy to prune them and unpot them all and store them properly. I put them together on my covered patio and wrapped them with tarps and watered them several times during the winter. I've got two out of seven that have no new growth at all once I remove all the dead stuff from last year. The ones I was worried about Cleopatra, Stuttgart, Pretoria and Phasion are alive so I'm happy.
