Transplant canna with foliage

Someone had dug up their canna and given them to me to transplant. The canna had foliage, any where from 6 inches to a foot. I plantd the rhizome, roots, etc but didn't do anything to the leaves. A week later they don't look to good, kinda brown loking around the edges & just don't look healthy,

Should I have cut back the leaves? Should I do it now?
How long before the plants start growing normally ?

Thanks,

Mike

Give it a week or two and they should start putting out new healthy leaves. I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. Just keep them well watered. Once the weather is consistently warm, they will explode into growth!
