Need Advice On Where To Buy Cannas

Who are the best mail order nurseries for cannas? I am looking for the paler colors, pink, apricot, white. And does anyone know the name of the pink canna at the top of the Canna Forum? This is the color I am looking for. Thanks for any help!

| The pink canna on the canna forum is Pink Perfection. I just bought it from Karchesky cannas online. They are great, as is Hornes. Sally |

| Am I missing something? http://www.karcheskycanna.com/ charges $12.50 for one rhizome of President canna (plus shipping, for which they do not disclose the price until you put together an order), but www.cannas.net charges only $1.25 (plus shipping). Why the big discrepancy? |

| Yes DLM, Karchesky is expensive. Horn canna is very cheap, with great healthy rhizomes,BUT yhey only carry the very basic types, maybe 25 or 30 varietys, nothing exotic. Just google "horn canna farm". |

| Horn Canna require a minimum $30 order as well. Has anyone used the Bloomingbulb.com store? I've bought from Oregon Coastal Flowers..bulbs seemed okay, but never grew, may be my fault so I'm giving it another go and checking out other stores. After the bengal tiger/pretoria variety. |

| I bought from Blooming Bulb last year but not cannas. The daffodils and other spring bulbs I bought bloomed true to name and were of nice size. |

| Usually, I always look for bargains. However, I have come to the realization that you get what you pay for. I spent $30 for a pot of Tropicanna. It was really an amazing 2 gallon pot. 4 years later, I'm really happy. Paid $23 for a beautiful Cleopatra with the burgundy swashes in the leaves. Paid $35 for Stuttgart. Could have picked them all up cheaper but there would have been some uncertainty as to whether they were healthy or not. Last year HD had tons of Cleopatra (with no swashes) and Tropicanna but they all were showing signs of virus. Depends on whether you like to gamble or not. |
