Please forgive my ignorance on this....I just found my passion for Canna. I'm still in a learning phase of my appreciation.....and, I've searched google for the answer to this question...but, all it wants to do is send me to places that sell Canna...or to youtube videos that really do not help answer my question.

I purchased an out of season bag of bulbs from one of the big box stores.....gotta love walmart.

It had 12 bulbs in the package. Two were bigger...and had some growth on them...not green because they had been in the bag too long....but, still white atleast.

All the others were small to tiny...and were the normal black things with some roots...but, no signs of sprouts or anything.

Is there a way to know ( aside from planting them and waiting) to know if they are going to be viable when you see them?

I got 12 for 5.00......if there is a way to tell if they will be viable by sight..I could go back and maybe purchase the other bags they had knowing they are in alright condition.
