| I'm anticipating some exterior remodeling this year and would like to get the cannas, that are a foot high now, to withstand a good beating. If necessary, when should I authorize construction start? I'll sacrifice bloom for good root developement. These are all first year plantings. |

| Cannas will regrow, no matter when you cut them back. But if you can wait til late fall, you can enjoy them all summer. It's really up to you. You're not going to hurt them by cutting them back at any time. |
