Canna virus infected soil?

I had 2 canna tropicanna planted in my garden last year, purchased from Lowes, and both got that canna mosaic virus? I believe that's what its called. I dug them up and returned them to the store. I purchased another one this year, but my question is:

Will the soil infect my new canna if planted in the same location?

Thanks fatbaldguy. Its too bad the big box stores always seem to have infected plants for sale.
