OK to plant cannas behind dwarf banana?

I just got a dwarf banana to fill up the damp zone in the yard. On the advice of some people on the banana forum, I decided to plant the banana below and in front of the cannas on a slope. The banana is supposed to grow to 4-6 ft., and I believe I have some Florence Vaughn, which can grow up to 8 ft.

Right now, the banana is 1.5 ft. tall, but I'm worried that in time, the banana leaves will put the cannas in the shade. The springs and summers here are pretty bright and sunny...Will this compensate? Thanks in advance.

Not to worry, Lil. I have bananas, EE's, cannas (many different varities), hibiscus, grasses, and many other things all planted together closely and they all thrive. Your banana leaves aren't going to provide all that much shade in the long run.

I live not to far from you and altho our summer heat is a little warmer than yours, I know that you won't have any problems at all.
