australia virused?

I had recently purchased some starter c. Australia plants from someone on ebay. The problem is, is that all 3 have a bright green streaking going through the new foliage. I believe that they are virused, the seller on the other hand says: "I spoke with a Canna expert today that has been growing these for many many years. He said that when the temperatures are hot like they have been that the Australias will do this. Come Fall when it cools off the new foliage should be without the green streaks." I find that hard to believe! Or am I wrong?

Anyone here have experience with the australia cannas? Would this make sense to you?

Almost everywhere you turn our cannas seem to be virused. I absolutely cannot have this with the collection I currently have. I know how to spot the virus in the lighter leaf varieties but I am not familiar with the australia. I have been so undecided on whether or not to plant these little guys or to just toss them. Any help would be so appreciated.
