 o
'Firecracker' seeds?

I am growing Canna 'Firecraker' which is a short variety (about 2') with flowers that are thin. I am collecting seeds but I am wondering how true to the parent they will come up as. Any guesses? My plant biology is failing me on this!

Hybrid seeds could end up being anything. If you want more Firecrackers, your best bet is to skip the seeds. They rob the rhizomes of energy. Feed them well and the plant should produce more rhizomes for you. That's the best way to get the true plant.

Yeah, that's the idea I was leaning towards. I have real specific likes regarding plants and the variability that comes from seeds ( and the patience it can take) does not always interest me!

I think these canna are more of a species then a hybrid so they might be more likely to resemble the parent plant. Oh well, I have a few seeds started, but I also have two one gallons that I can easily divide.
