keep canna seed chilled?

How do you manage canna seed that is collected in late summer? I do not want to start the seed 'till late winter.Are they kept in the fridge like other seeds to keep them fresh?

That's what I do, and it works very well.

I collected five seeds from a canna plant last year and they just sat on my desk 8 or 9 months. 2 of the 5 are growing. So maybe if you keep them in the frig they all will sprout for you.
