One of my 3 stuttgards are coming up,. 3 leaves so far but they are all green. Is that normal? I have it growing behind my red king humbert to sheild it from direct sun. Should I transplant it into a pot of it's own?

Sometimes that happens, but as the leaves get larger or new ones come in, you will start to see the variegation. If your plants grow and do not have that, then you might not have a c. Stuttgart. Just wait a bit and keep us posted.

passion for flowers, I got one my stuttgards off ebay from Hirt's gardens. It never looked "stuttgardish".Now it is flowering YELLOW. It is a Striped Beauty. Mail order is like a lottery unless you stick to growers like Karcharsky.

nucci60, I had trouble with a few canna's back a couple of years not being what they weer being sold for. I guess I would be happy if it blooms a clear yellow. Would love the veriagated folliage though. I am wondering if it is getting too much shade for it to develope the verigation. I am trying to be real careful with it so if the whites comes out it won't burn, but maybe I am protecting it to much. Will let everyone know as it gets older. |

I hace two true stuttgards about 5 foot tall in pots. They are tremondous but burn easily.I keep trying to find the right spot.I even tried spraying a leaf with wilt-pruf but it started looking "yellowish" after a few days.

Another good vendor is TheWatergardenshop. I brought mine from them and it came with three leaves for 10.00. That way you know what you are getting. The first one I brought from Hirt never grew.
