Very easy to move cannas. There's several different ways.

One is to pot 'em up when they're dug up.

Or put the rhizomes into large baggies filled with soil, either the soil they're coming out of or potting soil.

Or wrap the rhizomes with wet newspapers and/or wet paper towels and stick them into baggies or plastic grocery bags.

Or just dig them up, hose the soil off, let them dry, put them into a bag or box to transport them.
