Hi I'm just lurking on this forum and ran across your post.I can't answer your question,but I can tell you that I live in San Diego county and I have the same type of canna as you are showing in your pic. I too would like more info on what kind they are. Last year I transplanted my cannas from a very hot dry location because we were doing patio work. I moved them to a location that is more in the shade and they did leaf out really nice but did not flower.I'll be moving them again this fall when they go dormant. I hope someone can jump in here and let us know what kind they are. Thanks Julie |

| I purchased some seem this year from TradeWindsFruit.com and have some Canna that sprouted successfully. They have the same huge leaves as what you show. Here's a pic...

| I think these are close hybrids of Canna edulis. Any hybrid Canna is generally slapped with the name Canna x generalis, no matter what parent stocks were used to derive it. Canna x generalis is termed "Common Garden Canna" and includes all sorts of hybrids. |

| The top plant is the species Canna compacta, also known for some reason as Canna 'Robert Kemp'. |
