Can you recommend a good canna dealer?

I've been searching online and cannot seem to come up with a good dealer for canna bulbs or seed. Horn seems to have a limited inventory - others' photos don't look right - some want twenty or thirty bucks for a bulb! I'd like to buy "Austalia" and "Black Knight" for a fair price. Anybody??

You might try Horn Canna Farm;
last time I checked, they had mostly the most popular ones, & their prices were good.

Also, check with garden clubs in your area & look for swaps;
people who have cannas are always needing to thin them!

Also, check freecycle online groups in your area.

I once filled the whole back seat of the car with cannas I got by posting a "wanted" on freecycle!

Best luck!

sorry, misread the post, didn't realize you'd already ruled out H

Check the Exchanges page (just above the first message on this page, there're 2 other pages listed, Exchanges & Gallery).

Best luck!

Just a heads up for the original poster - Costco has "Black Night" this year in its spring bulbs, at least in WA and OR. Not sure where you're located at, but thought I'd post this.

I am looking for an old-fashioned red leaf canna, flower is red also 6-7' tall. Had them years ago, gave many away and have since lost the bulbs having the red leaves. Now in Fl. and would love to buy them. Never knew their exact name. Tried Black Knight and had poor results compared to the old fashioned canna. Have had good luck in the past with Costco bulbs and bloomingbulbs.com. Good prices and great about satisfying the customer.

Sounds like Red King Humbert. It's an easy to grow canna. I got mine from my parents who came across it near a house being bulldozed.

Some folks in ebay are good. I got a midnight before and it grew tall without any virus/disease. Make sure his score doesn't go below 98%. Good luck!
