Root cellar or basement

I have a 'Futurity Red' growing in a large pot. I have to bring it in for the winter. I have the room and different conditions in which to store it. Should I let the frost get it then store it in it's pot in the root cellar which runs around 40 degrees or in the basement which is much warmer? Or should I keep it growing in front of a south facing glass door?

I would vote for the basement or the glass door. This thing will grow either place. They will grow in the samllest of light. They will be thin and not bloom but they will be alive for next year. ( has a basement full of such wonders).
