I use peat moss just put them in a box with peat moss keep slightly damp they can never completely dry out. Store in a cool dark place not below 50 degrees. Check them from time to time for any problems.

I agree with the above. Peat really helps hold the moisture in the rhizomes. I usually don't even have to add any additional water throughtout the winter storage. I also think the 50 degree temp is the best. Any colder and they sometimes won't make it.

Peat or a good fresh bag of potting mix works very well.

When I'm out of peat, I've used wood shavings (like you use for hamsters) with good success.
