I'd take off those caps! Rain & snow helps to keep the moisture level right! I left them on my first year, and Trudi at the US site advised to remove them.

I do have four vent holes in each bottle, about 1/2 inch each, around the neck...
However, maybe that's not enough...I'll take your advice and them off...it not so cold out, so they could likely use it. Thanks!
