Canadian Winter Sowing

Question about WSing vegetables

Hello northerners: I am in Ontario Zone 5A and have been winter sowing for many years, but mainly flowers and alliums. I have been starting cucumbers, zucchini, and squash indoors and now I am wondering if anyone has winter sown these veggies, and when (in my zone). It would ease things a great deal if I could, since I am very late having been ill and not quite 'up to scratch' yet.
Any experiences with these? Thank you.

I spring sow mine - put them out in winter-sowing-like containers in late April or early May. It gives them a bit of a head start when it's too early to put them into the ground. Some things, like cucumbers and zucchini and tomatoes are too frost-sensitive to bother with starting outdoors - i do mostly cole crops and start other things inside.
