Yvonne's Salvia mishap

Remember I had a "fugue" and sowed the seeds too early, (in my opinion) for a tender annual way back in early March? Well, I saw some green in the two litre, and yes! Two sprouts. The bottle was very heavy however, and I realized I'd planted them in a solid bottom..no drainage holes! Poor little things were sitting in mud!
A few slits with a sharp knife, and things are draining, with more sproutage today.
Seems no matter how brain dead I am, the green will come. |

| Oh what luck!!! Good that you found them in time, eh? For the life of me I can't remember but I think you are the one I got Red Lupine seeds from. They are germinating and going strong and I'm so excited! |

| Tiff..I hope they are the reds. I was drying so much last year. If by chance they are the double purps, I'll get some more seeds out to you end of summer. Wendy p.s. I'll have some yellow as well..my little plant only gave me about 10 viable seeds last year, but they're all sprouting, and mama looks big and healthy this spring. (I wonder what happens with cross pollinating?) We shall see. |
