Sprouts in Zone 3

I was shocked yesterday to find sprouts in several of my containers. It had still been winter here until last Friday! Most of them are annuals, and of course there are freezing temperatures predicted this week, so the containers will have to be covered. Still, i didn't think i would have any sprouts this early, so it's a bonus!

And how did they do as the season progressed?

RE: Sprouts in Zone 3

That was 8 months ago - i don't remember! LOL Seriously, i can't remember offhand what sprouted first, but a lot of the annuals i did outside were late. It was so cold in July and early August here that a lot of them didn't progress much, and i ended up with very few seeds from anything because they froze before they went to seed.
