My mother gave me three small hydrangeas (blue bloomers) three years ago. Two of them have flowers for the first time this year. I enjoy walking through the gardens and seeing them!

Roses can really add fragrance to a garden. I have a little one near the front door but the bugs insist on eating the leaves. There are a few small flowers that survive and are quite pretty but the whole plant looks sad with so few leaves on it! Glad yours bloomed. What kind of fertilizer did you use?

Thanks for your note, but a tube rose is not really a rose. It is a tropical plant with lilly-like leaves, but its most important quality is the perfume of the little white flowers, especially at night. They are used a lot in the perfume industry to provide the white notes. Since I am new to fertilizers, I just used a 10-10-10. I'll be trying some others next year, thanks to Tiffy.

Good to hear you had success with your rose. In regards to your morning glories, you should not fertilize them as you will always get green. Cheers! Lorraine
