Success after 8 years!!!

Eight years ago my sister (who is a florist) gave me a little clump of tube roses. They multiplied rapidly until I had two pots full and each year I stored them in my basement, whitheld water, and brought them back out in spring, but never got a bloom. This year, I decided to fertilize them and, after the second time, to my surprise I had a shoot. It has taken months for this shoot to produce a bloom and it is magnificent. The intense perfume from this one flower atop a 2 foot stalk is staggering. I have moved the pot to my front door, so I can smell this gorgeous fragrance whenever I go out. It is especially pungent during the evening hours. I am thrilled!!!

Northerner.

P.S. Also in bloom is my moring glory. I have tried this several times: either it did not grow, or I got beautiful vines but never a flower. N.
