Has anyone ever winter sowed peony seeds? This year I got about 6 from one I thought might be Doreen. It's not Doreen because it doesn't have red stems. I'd like to try to plant up the seeds and see what I get. How long would they take to bloom? I'm not a real patient person but I do like trying new things. Marg

Peony seeds need to go through two winters, and then it will be several years before they flower. I mistakenly threw my first batch out after one winter. I am trying another jug. This time I'll keep it through the second winter. Caroline

Roaming the web-----I have found another way to germinate peony seeds. Soak for several days in hydrogen peroxide solution. Then into moist vermiculite, and keep really warm for 3 months.(20ºC to 30ºC) Then one month at about 10ºC to 12ºC, then frig temperature for 3 months. I am trying this way with some seeds now-----but do not have really war place. Caroline
