Poppy Seeds - Fall sprinkle??? HELP

Ok my mom gave me some poppy seeds from her garden. I am definitley not a green thumb! I am sure she told me spring or fall, rake the top of the soil and spread them and then run your fingers over top, side to side ...

BUT the big question is i put them in today! Oct 24th. Is that ok? Im thinking maybe i misuderstood. Now i am thinking im disappointed that i wasted them.

HELP!

You can direct sow in the fall/spring or you can wintersow the seed, any method is fine ;)

When I sow my poppy seeds I do it any time, spring or fall. Because I like them coming up sporadically, I just face away from the garden and toss them over my shoulder. I do that with calendula too. In spring, I just have to look for the seedlings coming up. marg
