vegetables anhyone?

I was just wondering if anyone else wintersowed vegetables? Last year I decided to try starting vegies. I did lettuce, cabbage, brussel sprouts, squash and cukes. I know you don't need to start squash and cukes early but I like larger plants to put out. This spring I want to try leeks. I just bought Eliot Colemans latest book 'The Winter Harvest Handbook' and I find it very informative and encouraging. Anyone else doing vegies? Marg

I've done cole crops and lettuce and they've done pretty well.

Since I started winter sowing I have done quite a few veggies: lettuce, green onions, cucumber, zucchini, swiss chard, parsley, thyme, and this year eggplant. I start most of them late with my annuals, but the lettuce and the green onions seem to do best in the real cold temps. Leeks should do well.
