I have bought from 4 nurseries now:

www.flytraps.com has great prices, plants arrived just fine. One looks a bit iffy but it's probably hibernation.
www.carnivorousplantnursery.com sells a lot of stuff but they are all bare root plants.
www.californiacarnivores.com is the biggest CP nursery in the US.
www.flytrapranch.com sells interesting pots, I got 4 of them, but waiting on getting a VFT for a bit.

www.flytrapshop.com hosts a very big forum on CP, they seem on the up and up.

As for Houston plants, it will depend on what types you want to grow. Some, like the VFT, would probably want a colder winter.

In addition to those listed above, Hirt's, Sarracenia Northwest and Black Jungle seem to be trustworthy, based on my own experience and what I've read here. There's also bugbitingplants.com, which sells on eBay. I buy a lot off eBay and haven't been ripped off yet.

I have kind of stopped buying from nurseries lately because there are three forums I frequent that members either sale or offer plants for trade.

I highly recommend these sites to expand your collection. You can get some of the more common plants for very cheap and sometimes for free (cost of postage). Even some of the more rare plants can be cheaper than what you would pay at a nursery. Also, seeds, cuttings, leaf pullings, etc can be found. I recently got a young Cephalotus for a very good price. I also have two Cephalotus Hummers Giant leaf pullings that I am hoping will root soon.

There is also a wealth of knowledge on these sites for all things CP.
