Low or High Humidity

I got the book "The Savage Garden" and while reading, I pondered upon the question, "Should my terrarium be kept at high or low/moderate humidity?"

First point, low-humidity will help to harden my sundews and will make them more sturdy. Con: It might get infested with spider mites,(they thrive in dry climates and being in Arizona, there's a ton).

For a high-humidity area, my plants will receive a climate nearly to that of their native one,(their Capes so they're sub-tropical). Con: High humidity may lead to infestation of countless fungi and molds, plus this may cause wilting.

One question to determine which path to take would be: Which would be easier to get rid of based on people's experiences: Spider mites or fungi?
