I'm not sure about the bumps but butterworts have practically no root structure so that is normal.

You probably have a P. primuliflora and it reacted to the change in environment... and now is responding. I would keep it as you have it and only add water (from the top) when the "tray" is dry. That worked best for me.

I am expiriencing this exact same thing right now the tips of my plant are brown and i have had it for 5 days or so, so this is reassuring!

I'm not sure if the bumps are the "grease" that is used to trap hapless critters or if they are the plantlets that form on the older leaves. Can you post a picture?
