carnivorous plants in nyc

I just moved to new york city, and am having a hard time getting rid of cockroaches. I live on the top floor and have a very warm apartment and a humidifier. I am a florist, and have a good understanding of plants and gardening, but I have a very limited understanding of carnivorous plants. It popped into my head today... would this be an answer? The roaches are small. I have browsed the forums for about two hours now, and haven't found the answers to my questions. My questions are these: Is this an applicable answer to my problem? Which plant would be the best fit? Is there a good place in NYC to find them, or is it better to order online? Is anyone else out there using carnivorous plants to solve a little cockroach problem? I promise to do my research on whatever is recommended, as I love being around plants and flowers. It looks to me that something with a pitcher or some receptacle would be a good fit, but correct me if I'm wrong. Please help!!!
