Sheet moss and VFTs?

I recently bought a bag of sphagnum moss at lowes to replant my vfts. This "sphagnum moss" didnt have the same texture as sphagnum moss did. I replanted them anyways...which was stupid because i read later that sheet moss is sometimes replaced for sphagnum moss and can be toxic to sarracenias. I plan to go back and buy some REAL sphagnum moss. Anyways, will sheet moss hurt my vfts if they have only been potted in it for a week or two?

I have no idea what sheet moss is. I've only seen long fibered sphagnum moss (LFS)(the good stuff) and decorative moss (the bad stuff). I would just avoid that which you are not sure of and get the LFS.

Yes, sheet moss will kill your plants, and quickly . If they have only been in it for a week or two, i would quickly take them out, and wash off the whole plant with distilled or rain water thoroughly, and then let them sit in a dish of distilled or rain water until you can get more peat moss.
