I'd like to start a bog garden, but how?

I'm going to have quite a bit of extra time come April, and I'd like to start a bog garden. I'd be in Southern Illinois (Right by St. Louis). I've got a spot of lawn near the top of small mound where a tree died about two years ago, I plan on digging into the mound's southeastern side, giving a southern exposure and adding a retaining wall to the mound, this way I'll have a nice wind block for the garden during the winter. (Cold winds are almost always northwesterly in my area).

I'd like a few sundews, and some pitcher plants, any other recommendations? (I am willing to take extra steps to protect my plants during the winter, I'd just like plants that won't die off every year).
