Maybe you could get a N. rajah to put next to the sundews, unless you want to keep the cats...

ROFL!!! Nah, I think I'll keep the cats although I've often though about a rajah - but humidity would be a major obstacle!

I've bought a set of dishes / mug for my wife that reads: "Everything tastes better with cat hair in it".

AS long as the cats don't destroy the plants, you're doing well.

The cats do like to eat sundews from what I have seen. They might chew on Nepenthes a little, but then they get sick.

Actually, I think my obnoxious one did eat one of the new stems that was pushing up on my multifork sundew. It was just starting to unfurl and was a lot taller than the others... and I went in one day and it was mysteriously gone! Every since then, I've been more vigilant about keeping the door closed! :D I like the mug idea... maybe I'll do something like that for my husband. He's always grumping about finding cat hair everywhere, but luckily not in the food TOO often!

I keep the CPs in a separate room, but I want to open that room up so we'll see what happens. The cat doesn't mess with the few plants that she can get to.

Reading the subject, I thought that somebody was experimenting with cat hair as a planting medium!

A few days ago I was sitting at the kitchen table and what caught my eye was our napkin holder. At both ends of the napkins were small wads of cat hair. Now how did that get there?
