I always get an answering machine. It is actually a 150 GPD unit. Some one told me that I may have a problem with the restrictor.

Does the company have a website?
got a meter on the unit?
try reducing the pressure and go for 40 gallons a day.

They do have a website. I highly doubt they are going to send me back a reply though. The unit does not have a meter. If I lower the water pressure would that harm the RO membrane? It supposed to work with 65psi.

Yes, but how much before you get too much pressure in the RO membrane. My last RO membrane got damage, in less than a year, and I think it was because of the wrong restrictor. But I am not sure.

Do you know if the wrong water restrictor could damage the RO membrane?

dont try to judge by time and cups. you need to measure the waste water to pure ratio. set it up like normal and try to fill up a gallon jug and put the waste water line in a 5 gal bucket. the ratio should be 5:1 waste to pure. ro units produce a LOT of waste. you can use it to water regular plants if you have any.
