My new plant arrived ,apparently it's a Sarracenia purpurea 'Barbapapa'

Unlike with my other sarr this one has lids that cover the pitchers, is this one of those sarrs that needs water in it's pitchers or will it be able to munch on little critters just fine?

S. purpurea characteristically requires water to be manually placed in pitchers. I guess in nature the rain does that for them.

Thanks, I put it ouside today because it's cool and cloudy so I'll see if it needs a "refill" soon.

Put it outside in full sun and leave it there. I never add water to mine, nature will add the water. Nice plant!

After less than 3 weeks in the sun the plant now looks like this

The dark reds seem to have mostly gone, it's now a bright red and the pitchers fell open and are now hugging the ground. A lot of new pitchers are starting to come up ,it's hard to believe it's the same plant.
