I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer to this...

Many, but not all, of my pitcher plants have developed a very sticky (adhesion similar airplane glue) film right on and below the lip of the pitcher as well as under the canopy. It's sort of white and fuzzy and appears to affect the plant's ability to catch insects. I tried wiping it off without success. I have noticed this in the past several seasons and Orthene does not appear to be helping.
