The cape sundew might be the all red type if you could post pictures it'd be easy to tell if it got sun burn or it just colored up from plenty of sun..

As long as they get accimilated to the sun they should do fun and full sun I have my flytraps out in trays and they do fine and if your plant did get burnt it'll grow more and the new leaves will be used to the sun..

I find they like bright light but not direct Sun so much. Maybe early morning or late afternoon Sun only.

Definitely the red type variety. They are getting the light they need, I agree with "n.gentle" they are doing just fine growing under the sun.

I don't know if it is the red variety. I bought it from California Carnivores under "D. Capensis Narrow Leaf. It was green when I bought it (in March) and was green all the way up until I took it outside. And, as you can see, a leaf in the middle is still green.

You may have the all red variety. They're intended to turn red. Here's mine:

The red variety as I heard is the narrow leaf type. I don't seems that its sun-burned, even if they are not the red variety, I've seen some cape sundews aquire some redness in them. Yours looks happy and it doesn't look any different form "petiolaris" sundew, sogetting red is normal. I wouldn't worry about it.
