That sounds normal. Older or less adapted VFT leaves might start curling or burn slightly, but newer leaves will be adapted to the full sun and should be fine. So long as the temperature does not go above 100 degrees, they should be fine. They crisp in temps over 100 rather quickly. So long as the leaves are green, producing red pigment, and not wilting, they sound healthy to me. Just some are getting old and scraggly looking is all. You should see mine, it has several older traps dying off, but many new ones replacing them. When I trim it it will look much better.

So...in late June, July, and August, when the temperature will be close to if not just a bit over 100, am I S.O.L? Keep in mind that the official temperature is taken in complete shade, so in sunlight, where the plants are, it can easily get + 15-20 degrees. What do I do to protect them?

Perhaps you can bury their pots in the ground and make sure they are kept watered. They do need their sunlight and they do adjust eventually.

Good idea, but no can do. I live on the third floor of an apartment complex. The owners would be mad if i tried to bury the pots in my wooden balcony. I suppose at last resort I could buy larger clay pots and sink the plastic pots in and surround with peat moss, but that would be a pain, and whenever I get the peat moss out, (because it comes in 50 lb bales) It always makes such a mess, my downstairs neighbors must hate me.

The hottest part of the summer would not be fun for them, so they might have to do with less direct sun and supplemental florescents until after the greatest heat is past. Just give them the most light possible without the 115 degree temps.
