Cleaning Pitcher Plants

I have two pitcher plants (common Darl. & Sarr.) growing outside. They are both flowering well, about 10 flowers per plant, and they both have a new flush of leaves developing.

Both plants look good, but they would look a lot better if I removed the old and cold damaged pitchers. Up till now, I've let nature take care of itself, only removing the completely dried up leaves. I'm sure that's the best course of action, but its not the most attractive. So... is there a good time to do a little selective pruning?
