They will work for a season, but they need to be fluorecent. The incascendant kind do not work. They produce the wrong wavelength for plants and it will be like they were in the dark. Skip growlights, the regular shoplights work just as well while being cheaper. I'd shoot for 2 inches and line the enclosure with foil to reflect light back onto the plants.

The plants your trying to grow will need to go dormant every winter. Without it the plants will die. Except for the cape sundew, that will grow year round.

Agree with Alcran, I will not discuss growing the VFT and Purpea growing inside anymore.

Yeah, they also need cooler temps and less water.
