In a way yes, but it wasnÂt a bad cold. I did my front yard that day. It was my boss; sheÂs quite squeamish when people get sick, I think sheÂs a health freak.

I was surprised how quickly the petals wilted. It opened in the afternoon and 2 hours later, its petals shriveled. No wonder I missed them all the time when they opened up. A few time I was at home and I still missed them. Strange that this one only had 4 petals.

Look at the pictures in Savage Garden. At least one pygmy sundew has 4 petals. Another has 5.

Beautiful! Is it hard to grow?

No... not at all. The best way to procure plants like these is to wait until the fall, when hobbyists are offering gemmae, which are easy to sprout. They grow well at window sills, open tray method. See forum topic about pygmy sundew for pictures. Here's one sample:

I think that plant is D. allantostigma x omissa, as identified by some pygmy sundew experts (not me!)

Jimscot, that appears to be pulchella x ommisa instead. I'll have to wait for mine to flower to confirm it but the rosettes look identical.

Sweet pics! Cute lil buggers! I'm leary about doing the ones that need a winter dormancy -- not easy to accomodate in an apt. That flower may be tiny but it looks huge for the size of the plant.

You wouldn't know it but until this post, it had been called D. omissa x pulchella 'Orange Flower'. But I thought it was mislabeled, because the flower is actually pink. So I posed the question and a far more experienced hobbyist than me said this hybrid originated with him and he was calling it pulchella x ericksoniae. The more opinions I get the more names I get! Besides, ericksoniae is now supposed to be patens.
