New Sar. Purpurea water

I have heard mixed reviews...on a Sarracenia Purpurea..with a newly opened pitcher..should i add distilled water in the pitcher itself..some people have told me that newer pitchers will make their own liquids..and you only add water to older pitchers

on half of them i have added..and the other i havent..and on the ones that i didnt i dont noticed any big amounts of liquid..but it seems moist...ish

I am familiar with that instruction. I never have added water. What do they do in natural habitat?

They collect rain! Matt where are you in the east bay? I'm from the Antioch, Oakley area originally.
