Ventricosa troubles

| Hello all, this is my first post in this forum so far. The reason I'm posting is because its a now a few days after I received my Nepenthes Ventricosa, and a few of the leaves are browning around the edges. I've watered it once each day, once with collected rainwater and another time with distilled tap water. Below are some pictures of my new Nepenthes.

Looks fine to me. Any leaf discoloration or pitcher-loss in the first few weeks is just it adjusting to its new environment. Leastways thats my opinion.

Hm, I'm still curious about how you've Distilled your tap water...?

Nevermind about what I thought was distilled water. I thought that letting it sit for 48 hours+ would get rid of most of the additives. It's just that I saw another post where someone was dealing with salt buildup, and browning around the edges of the leaves was a symptom of this.

Yeah, you probably should consider repotting with fresh peat moss and perlite -- or at the very least, flushing out your pots with a LOT of true distilled water. I'm sure older and wiser people here would have better solutions than I about how to salvage your plants, though: Water FAQs: http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq3360.html http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq3370.html http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq3380.html

I'm going to flush out the soil, since we're experiencing a HUGE rainstorm right now. Come to find out, the plant happens to be sitting in a window where rain is coming in, and is getting watered. That ought to help out with the process. I really hope that I'm able to save my N. Ventricosa before it's too late.

I flushed the soil out today with rainwater I had collected, and I noticed a white residue on where the water level was in the dish, on the side of the pot. I hope that this is a sign that my flushing is working.
