You can move the babies now. Prepare MOIST potting mix before hand (I use 50/50 peat moss and perlite) then just separate and replant in the new, MOIST mix and place in bright, indirect light. Easy Peasey!

Longer thinner leaves could mean different variety or needs more light. Bright indirect light is what they seem to like. Some early morning or late afternoon Sun is fine too.

I would wait a bit, unless you are really wanting more plants. My Adelae did not take well to being split apart, out of the 8 separate plants I pulled out of the clump only about 3 of them really took off.

The others are still around but are hanging out at the 1-5mm size mark. The biggest one is a few inches wide and has started the process all over again -- and at this rate, the new plants that big one is growing will outgrow the other little plants from the original clump.

So in other words, all I really accomplished was taking a nice healthy clump of Adelae and making ... a nice healthy clump of Adelae and about 4 unhealthy ones. :)

If it were me, I would wait until those babies start having babies and THEN try separating them, that seems like a nice time.

I will give them a bit more time to grow stronger. In fact, I may even just repot the entire clump into an even larger pot, maybe only separating some of the babies as a test.

My adelae are getting about 3-5 hrs of bright light and 8-10 of very filtered light at the moment. I have been mixing up different combos of this to see what works best.
