Drosera capillaris (i think) care?

I found what I think is a Pink Sundew in Taylor County in Georgia. It was out in sandy soil by a creek, about 5 inches above the water line. The whole (main) plant cant be bigger than a quarter and there are several smaller ones growing around it. It is green with pink at the ends of the little spines and the two biggest plants have tiny thin stems growing out of them that I assume will be flowers. I can post pictures tomorrow if need be. I have absolutely no experience with carnivorous plants, other than being discouraged by what you refer to as deathboxes from lowes. I do keep reptiles and have a few tanks with just plants, so I have some experience with maintaining humidity levels and light as well as drainage, soil ph, and water ph. I work at a pet store with access to RO water if I need it. I have looked around on the internet for a care sheet but have had no real luck, can someone point me in the right direction or tell me some specifics as far as temperature, humidity, light wattage, and watering instructions? I have LOTS of old fishtanks, bowls, and other containers to keep it in but I dont know where to start.. Also.. and this might sound quite dumb.. but how exactly do you feed them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance..

Is this plant in your possession now?

Carnivorous plants cannot be removed from the wild by just anybody. I do hope that you have not poached a wild sundew-especially with zero carnivorous plant experience. The International CP Society has terms for collection wild seed, but plants are quite a no-no.

No, I wanted to find out if I could keep it alive before I did anything. Its on my (not quite) mother-in-laws land, in an area they have been clearing for the kids, so I planned on going back for it if I found out that I could possibly care for it (as I said, thus far Ive only killed them). So I suppose this means that I can't keep it because I cant remove it, I guess Im glad I asked. How do I find out about collecting seeds? Is that difficult to do (would it be easier to buy them online)? Or going back to my original question, is this something that I would be able to keep or is it difficult? Im willing and eager to try another way to gain some experience keeping CPs other than death boxes and plant poaching!

Thank you for letting me know about the legality of collecting them.. I know that many reptiles are illegal to remove or kill, but I had no idea that plants also have those restrictions! Ill check out the international CP society and read up before I go back.

Yanking something from private land is fine with permission. Public land is technically doable with permits and such, but that is usually only for very specific reasons.

Regardless of whose land it's on, I'd leave them be . They are protected for a reason . If they seem to be flourishing where they are, let grow and multiply so that future generations may have them to enjoy and marvel at .
As for the Lowe's deathcubes, check out some of the other postings on here, you'll find that they are not a lost cause ! Many members of this forum have fine healthy plants thanks to the deathcubes.
There are tons of other resources available on line if you'd prefer to not go the " deathcube" route .
These days , best to leave to nature , what is nature's , we have options , nature doesn't .
