I ordered a Nepenthes ventricosa x spectabilis. I was wondering if anyone has ordered neps from there and what should I do to acclimate my nep to my house?
I dont see a way to edit already placed posts. In any case, Sarracenia Northwest preadapts their Nepenthes for low humidity before shipping them if at all possible. The Nepenthes you ordered has ventricosa parentage, so is easier to adapt and hardier in general. They do recommend lower nightly temperatures due to the more finicky parentage this plant has, but it is not going to be a big deal. Just keep the plant at house temperatures of about 70 -80 degrees and it should do fine. It will come in a pot and will not need any special care after you receive it in a couple of days to a week. Just take it out of the box and place it in a well lit window or under florescent lights of about 6000-12000 lumens and watch it grow. No humidity dome or terrarium needed. My sanguinea came from there and just grew like crazy after I got it. It is still growing and is three times the size I initially got it about 6-7 months ago. It was barely 3 inches across then, check it out now. It literally dwarfs the 5 inch pot I repotted it in 6 months ago.

It simply will not stop pitchering and is easily the most spectacular plant in my collection. They will send instructions to help you out too.
My guess is that it is not receiving enough hours of light (photoperiod). I've had mine a window sill and they stop pitcher from November until April. But now I have an artificial light over them and have the light on for a good 13-16 hours a day.
