Another try... Age of Sarracenias

I tried posting this before but something must have gone wrong so I'll try this again.

Does anyone here know how old Sarracenia plants get?

I know you get baby plants and seedlings and stuff but if you would keep only the "motherplant" how long would it live? I guess most people with sarrs take the baby plants that start to grow in the pot and plant them in another( Just started this spring so I'll first will have to learn what to look for) so when the big plant dies they'll have new ones to take over.

They can live a long time as long as the conditions are right. I know of a nursery that has a plant that is 20+ years old and all of that particular species that nursery has are desendace from that one plant they purchased over 20 years ago. These plants can be propagated by seed once your plants have reached flowering maturity at 4-5 years old i believe and they do produce offsets that you can create new plants from and when the rhizome gets large enough you can create another plant with rhizome division hope this helps
