What type of pitchers plant is it? Is it a temperate Sarracenia, or a tropical Nepenthes? What are you watering it? Did you transplant it? If so, what media are you using?

There could be many reason why your plant is shriveling, one is shock. Taking it out in a container with high humidity and inside a shaded store, and placing it in a dry environment under a strong sun. That will cause shock to your plant.

You have to be more specific. We can't know what's wrong with your plant with a simpe post.

I think it is a Nepenthes ventricosa plant. The guy said it
came from Australia. It is still in the orgianal medium
hanging basket. It is a rather large plant. I water with
fresh rain water.
It seems to be putting on new growth, but the new pitchers
are turning brown. I'm thinking shock and it is trying
to get settled in it's new home.
There are two good sized plants in the container. I was thinking of transplanting one in another container. Should I, or wait until winter to transplant?
Please share your opinon. I paid a good amount of money for
this large plant and I don't want to loose it.

um, nepenthes ventricosa actually comes from the philphines but put your plant indoors for at lest 6 months and mist it for 30 times and decerres 3 time each 4 day a weak until 6 months or the new pitcher stop turning brown. there another way to let your nepenthes adape to low huminity is to put a bag over on your nepenthes and puncher 3-6 holes every 3 days, keep doing this until 2 weeks and take out your bag and your nepenthes is adapeted to low huminity. And i heard you can't plant nepenthes ventricosa outside because it need some huminity like 30% or higher, you can plant a hybrid nepenthes like ventrata or miranda or nepenthes sanguinea which is not a hybrid but this plants work though.
