My tropical Pitcher plant offspring?

so my tropical pitcher plant is huge okay. its about 2 feet tall. and at the base of the plant are growing tiny leaves that seem to be making tiny pitcher plants. about a CM big. it usually makes 7 inch pitchers but its wierd, it all tucked away in the center and stuff. i was wondering why are they growing like that? its not in a division cause its growing out from teh actual base of the plant. any help?

Hello trap7,

Actually, your Nepenthes still sounds young. Nepenthes in the mountains of Borneo and Pinatubo have been found as long as 40 feet (according to species) growing up trees. Some grow more compact close to the ground.

What you are seeing growing from the base of your plant are new vine bifurcations. It is still one plant, it is just making new vines from it's main stalk. Now that it is beginning to vine, you should see it grow like crazy and become bushier, sending vines out in all directions. Your plant is becoming an adult. If it really likes it's home, it might even flower eventually.
