Alan, they all look quite healthy to me. I would expect the pitcher plants to overwinter in London just fine. They'll probably look like they're dead but revive in spring. I'm assuming you'll be leaving them outdoors.

I'm not sure about the sundew. It could be a tropical species. It might need protection from severe cold. If it's a temperate sundew, it could probably stay outside year-round.

I'm pretty sure the zoning thing is a US thing. However it is just based on the minimum temperature for your area. Take the worst winter cold of the last ten years or so and map it onto the scale.

That sundew looks to me like a D. Spathulata, some sort of subspecies. In which case, it is tropical, and needs to be grown like a house plant.

Hi Alanblower. Your plants look just fine. The sundew is an Aliciae and is tropical, as icenine said. I'm in the UK and have a similar set trough type set up, with numerous sundews that have self seeded.

For the past two years I've kept the whole thing in an unheated greenhouse without loss of any of the sundews, or sars. The sundews die down but pop back up in the spring. Other than that, I just keep them outside.
