IT sometimes starts out as white and in time turns light purple (iris). I've had that happen a few times. Thought I had a different species, but it was just a primuliflora!

Butterworts are hard to pollinate and tend not to self-pollinate. From what I have heard, a long, thin, camel-hair paintbrush can be used to pollinate them. Basically you will have to push the hairs of the brush into one flower and then into a second flower. You can just try to initiate pollination in one flower by using the brush several times in the same flower. If you have multiple flowers, it is best to cross them as you get stronger seedlings. Just round robin the flowers by using the brush on each in turn and ending by pollinating the first flower with the last flower's pollen.

If you have a bladderwort in flower, you could try some genetic engeneering and cross the butterwort with the bladderwort since they are close cousins. From what I have read, they produce a plant that has tiny nematode cathing bladders on it's roots and carnivorous flat butterwort leaves above ground.

But for P. primuliflora, in particular, this species propogates itself. You could have a colony of plants within a few months.
