burnt cups on sarracenia

hello,this is my first time on this forum.i recently bought a sarracenia with the red veins and dark red tops. i have been giving it distilled water as needed.my husband watered it one day with the hose and we have alkaline water.now the tops of the cups look burnt .should i cut these out,if so how far down the leaf do i cut?if i need to cut all the way down to the pot there will be no leavws.any suggestions?thanks

Yeah, they reacted to the water. Rain water is also good for them. Generally speaking, I snip that which is dead plant material and leave the green and red alone.
